This weekend, Phenom Hoops travels to Ambassador Christian in Huntersville, North Carolina to host our inaugural Ambassador Classic. The one-day event features six games with a healthy mix of programs from the public, private, and independent sectors. In preparation for the showcase, we will take a closer look at each matchup and overview some of the anticipated storylines…

Langtree Charter vs. NC GBB

The first contest of the event features an intriguing matchup between Langtree Charter and NC GBB. In looking at Langtree Charter (5-4), they’ve had some ups and downs in the opening half of their season but should be optimistic entering the new year. They’ll likely continue to be without their leading scorer Anthony Nesbit, and will need to look to the core of Jerel Brawley, Ashton Munters, and Martynas Pertauskas to do most of the heavy lifting. However, guys like Aiden Gelpke and Arbrey Hoyle can also be impactful pieces. On the other side, NC GBB seems to find ways to compete no matter who shows up. Whether Devin Sims, KJ Burke, Malcolm McNeil, or Cam Barnes, they have several players who can set the tone. Darius Robinson is a well-rounded piece, AJ Long provides a strong, physical presence, and Kato Muhammed finds ways to make an impact within his role. Both sides have prospects worth noting, so it’ll be interesting to see how things shake out at 12:00 on Saturday.
