Several players around North Carolina in the Class of 2024 had an exciting week, receiving their first offers. One of which was 2024 Jayden “Juke” Harris from Salisbury high school, as he earned an offer from Western Carolina while at their elite camp. He talks about his exciting summer with Team Wall and his thoughts on his recruitment.

Big summer with Team Wall/ Getting ready for the upcoming high school season

It has been a big season for several young prospects, especially after what we have all faced in the last year.  2024 Jayden Harris looks to be a name that should become more familiar with his game.  He has been giving everyone a glimpse this summer with Team Wall, as it has been a unique experience for him.

'The overall season has been good,' he told Phenom Hoops. 'The AAU season has been a different experience. I got to play against some of the top players in my class and I got more exposure this summer. I got to play against better competition and different types of tournaments than I used to. It has shown me I can play and compete against anyone.'

Showing off his ability to be a shooter and use his length to finish at the rim, Harris is now setting his focus at his new school, recently transferring to Salisbury high school.

'My focus is to lead my team and make them better and be the best player in North Carolina,' he replied.  'I will still have to be a leader and I'm excited to become a leader there; I want my teammates to feel like they can depend on me in every situation.'

Picking up first offer from Western Carolina

It was a special moment for Harris recently, as he participated in Western Carolina's elite camp where he learned about his first offer.

'It was special, finally receiving my first offer felt like all the work I've been putting in is finally paying off,' Harris said.  'I was at their elite camp and after, I went to the head coach's office and he told me from what he has seen that he liked my game. I haven't had a chance to visit the campus yet, so I only known about the coaches and the gym.'

Harris liked the facility early on from what he saw but he hasn't had to chance to sit and talk more about the program, but he hopes too soon.

Harris also has received interest from East Tennessee and he went on a visit to UNCG recently as well.

'I walked through some of the campus,' he said about the UNCG visit.  'I visited the practice gym for the boys and girls, I watched one of the players work out, and I met the head coach; it was a good visit.  East Tennessee said they were looking into recruiting me.'
