A 2022 6’10 prospect from Covenant Day, Ifeanyi Ufochukwu is a name to start remembering.  The coaches call him Iffy to help but he is going to be a prospect that many colleges will be looking at and offers could be coming in fast down the road.

Patrick O’Brien got his first look of Ufochukwu’s game at the Team Curry Open run back in July, saying:

“2022 Ifeanyi Ufochukwu is a 6’10 big that moves really well, shows footwork and mobility, and has long arms that can be effective on both ends of the floor.”

The big man had already garnered some attention before then but that was just the start, as high-major schools around the country now are starting to give him a look. Schools like Georgia, Auburn, Davidson, Texas A&M, East Carolina, Princeton, Winthrop, Virginia Tech, and a few others have all contacted him in the past few months.

Though no offers have come on the table as of yet, coaches have to know that this young man has the talent to play at the next level and he still is only scratching the surface of what he could become.

So far, he believes that he has been able to show how he could impact the game on both ends of the court but Iffy knows he still has room to grow and develop.

“I’ve been able to show my post moves so far,” he told Phenom Hoops.  “And my defensive presence in the paint and ability to spring up and down the floor.  I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot the ball because of the role I play with my team but I would love to improve on my left hand and continuing to finish strong around the rim.”

He is clearly going to be a prospect that programs will be after and he looks to be starting his story this summer with Team Curry.
