6’5” Luguentz Dort (Arizona State)
Athlete Institute (Canada)
Dort walks on the court and you immediate take notice with his size and frame. He is built like a 3rd year college linebacker. Then you watch him play and he is a legitimate point guard. He has great vision and pace, gets into the paint almost at will and finds the open man making the right pass. He is a good athlete and even found himself defending the 5-man throughout the game. Look for him to make a run at the NBA sooner rather than later.
6’6” John Newman (Clemson)
Greensboro Day (Greensboro, NC)
Newman is the ultimate glue guy player, in the fact that he does everything on the court and makes his teammates better on both ends. He is a high level wing defender, able to lock up multiple positions and offensively he plays with great toughness. He shot the ball well at all three levels and plays with an incredible toughness. He will find his way on to court at Clemson early.
6’6” Mike Wynn (East Carolina)
Liberty Heights (Charlotte, NC)
Wynn is tough, that is the easiest way to describe him and what he does. Loves the tough guy stuff and does it at such a high level. Wynn is a good defender as he guards multiple positions throughout the game. He shot the ball at a high rate, making plays at all levels. When everyone else at their level or higher had questions East Carolina went hard at Wynn and they should reap the spoils for him. He will be on the court early and should stay there often throughout his career.
6’5” Sharone Wright Jr (Wake Forest)
Legacy Charter (Greenville, SC)
Having watched Wright for four year, this was the most aggressive we have ever seen him play. It seemed all of the immense tools were coming together for him and it produced in a major way. He finished his game with 24 points and 9 boards, when everyone else on his team was balanced and below 10. Wright was a star and looks to be turning the corner into stardom, just in time to suit up with his fellow Demon Deacons in what should be considered Danny Manning’s best class yet.
6’8” Ignas Brazdeikis (Michigan)
Orangeville Prep (Canada)
Brazdeikis is one of the best pure scorers that we have seen. The lefty is able to get hot and carry at team by flat putting up numbers. He shot the ball with range, he was able to get to the basket to finish through contact and he was able to get downhill and above the rim in traffic. His day 1 performance of 31 points was magnificent, but impressively that is what he can do each time out. He could not have picked a better program, from a standpoint of “fit”, than Michigan as he should be able to fully maximize his talents there.
6’2” Devon Dotson (Kansas)
Providence Day (Charlotte, NC)
Dotson is just that dude. He will go to Kansas and follow in the footsteps of the path Frank Mason set. Yes we realize Mason was the NCAA National Player of the Year and an NBA draft pick, but Dotson is probably ahead of Mason at the same stage. Without question he elevates the play of his team on both ends and has a constant chip on his shoulder that leads to production and wins. Dotson is a 5-star and he should be a McDonald’s All American.
