Milligan has been in the news as of late, as this is a program that has been working hard on the recruiting trail and has quietly earned a strong and underrated upcoming class coming in.  2025 Ahmari Hicks was the first to announce but as of late, 2025 Jake Benham and 2025 Liviu Anton have both announced their commitments to the program.

Hicks and Benham will certainly give this program shooters along the outside, as both have shown that they can fill it up from deep, knock down shots from an array of areas and levels, and really can open up the defense. Anton is a sneaky get for the program, as this young man just knows how to bring production and compete on the court.

Milligan has done a great job in securing underrated talent, with one of them being McCaskill Rivers who is averaging now 20.7ppg this season. Hicks, Benham, and Anton hope to be the next wave of underrated talent from the state of North Carolina, as they look to leave their legacy on the program.

2025 Ahmari Hicks

“Hicks excels in getting to his spots, whether off catch-and-shoot situations or creating for himself, comfortably knocking down shots from behind the arc or from the mid-range. But he has good athleticism and length as well to finish at the rim.  He competes well on both sides, making him a reliable 3-and-D type prospect, playing within the offense and what the team needs but also having the ability to fill it up when needed.”

2025 Jake Benham

“Benham displays a nice comfort level with the ball in his hands, both when looking to create for himself and others, and can initiate the offense as needed. He shoots the ball at a high percentage, moves well as a cutter, and displays a great understanding of when to let it fly or make the extra pass. Benham does a quality job of playing the passing lanes defensively and getting to his spots in transition. He’s capable of heating up quickly from the perimeter. Though already a useful player, Benham should only continue to progress over the foreseeable future.”

2025 Liviu Anton

“Anton is an interesting prospect with his blend of size, mobility, touch and feel, and ability to operate from a variety of areas.  He plays with a strong motor, finding ways to make plays for his team, make those extra-effort plays, and play within the offense. He doesn’t need to be the focal point offensively but finds ways to bring value, scoring off rebounds, battling in the paint, finding ways to get to the line, and make smart decisions. There are certainly tools that you have to like about his game, and he should garner more attention here in North Carolina.”
