The season has been a fun one and so many players have stepped up in a big way this season for their team. One player of interest, who is actually coming off a record-breaking night, has been 2025 Snook Peterkin at Mount Tabor. The Spartans are sitting at a strong 16-4 overall and the Virginia Tech commit has been putting on a show this season.
Does that really surprise us too much? Not really from what we have seen over the years, but this is a senior looking to go out with a bang for sure. Peterkin was one that we always saw the potential and though he was a big-time standout on the football field, he was one that produced as well on the court.
We had this to say about his game not long ago:
“Peterkin is a crafty, athletic shot-maker who possesses excellent creation skills and a dynamic identity on both ends of the floor. He can reliably generate and convert shots from anywhere on the floor and mixes it up enough to keep defenses constantly guessing. Peterkin passes the ball really well and looks to set up others whenever possible. He’s also a tough defender and willing rebounder with the ability to regularly force turnovers and lead the break in transition. Peterkin consistently affects all facets of the game while naturally standing out as a leader for this group.”
Now, as a senior, Peterkin is having a memorable season in which he is averaging 22 points per game, shooting 44 percent from the floor, averaging 6.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, and also knocking down threes at 36 percent on the year. He has the Spartans thinking big and he has put his team on his back, as he clearly showed with his 51-point record-breaking performance against Glenn earlier this week.
Peterkin is fun to watch, no matter what sport he is playing. He has the talent to produce in a big way and he has made a statement this year of why he was one of the premier talents in North Carolina.
