It was a great day of basketball down in Matthews (NC), as each game was tight throughout. Several players though were able to hit monumental milestones in their high school careers, reaching the 1,000-point mark. We talk about each and send a huge congrats to each of them.

2025 Bryce Slay – Carmel Chrisitan

Slay has been one of the clear leaders for Carmel Christian this year as a senior and at the Carmel MLK, he put on a strong show in scoring 22 points that allowed him to reach the 1,000-point milestone in his high school career. Known for his ability to knock down shots from a variety of levels and with range, Slay did a great job in attacking the basket and scoring in transition, as he was able to secure a big win at home on Saturday.

2025 Ahmari Hicks – East Meck

With East Meck being a bit short-handed, Hicks along with others had to step up to help secure a hard-fought victory. Hicks, who has been the senior leader all year long, continued to operate like he has all season, showing his range and comfort in knocking down shots from outside, getting to his spots well for his jumper, and just being a strong scoring option. He finished with 18 points to help his team in a big way to secure the win vs. Cox Mill.

2025 Kaden Hammond – The Burlington School

Hammond has had a huge senior season and has really shown how effective he can be inside and out as a forward. He was a strong force for TBS in a tight battle against Wesleyan Christian, as he did a great job in scoring with touch and feel around the basket, being physical inside, and active on the glass. It was a tight game and Hammond led the charge for TBS, finishing with an impressive 16 points and 13 rebounds.
