There’s a lot of talent in North Carolina’s Class of 2028. Many of these young prospects have already established themselves as meaningful contributors or primary options at the varsity level. While team success is undoubtedly important, individual production (specifically at this stage) can reveal a lot about a player’s ability and mentality. Quietly having one of the most productive seasons amongst his peers, Kaharri Coleman is clearly shining as a focal point for Harding University.
Despite some ups and downs as a team, it’s easy to see what Coleman brings to the table. He’s a smart, poised floor general with an excellent combination of pace, vision, and polish as a creator. Coleman understands how to control the action as the main creator and displays great balance between setting up others and applying pressure as a scorer. He possesses a strong nose for the ball, both defensively and on the glass, and regularly outworks opponents on both ends of the floor. Right now, the freshman point guard is averaging 15.6 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 4.9 APG, and 3.7 SPG. Coleman’s efficiency can (and likely will) improve, but there’s already plenty to like about his overall game.
Fortunately, majority of the Rams’ most difficult games are in the rearview mirror. The team is currently 4-12 with games remaining against West Mecklenburg (x2), Queen City Prep, Hopewell, North Mecklenburg, Chambers, Mallard Creek, West Charlotte, and Hough. It’ll be fascinating to see how Coleman fares against several notable matchups throughout this stretch. Regardless, he will be a prospect to watch closely during the upcoming summer season and beyond.
