Day 2 – Boys

Greensboro Day 65 – Dudley 41

Big time matchup between these two teams, it was Greensboro Day that was able to clamp down early to take a double-digit lead quickly in this game and eventually earn a 15-point halftime. Much like the first quarter, GDS was able to make a defensive stance and put this game away. Trace Moffitt was one of three players in double-figures with 13 points, while CJ Jones led all scorers with 25 points for Dudley.

Smith 58 – Bishop McGuinness 34

A matchup between to big-time programs that have been racking up the wins, one team was going to be making a statement in this one. It ended up being Smith, as they were able to build a narrow lead early on and then use a strong fourth quarter to put this game away, eventually winning by 24 points. Jyi Dawkins finished with 13 points while Tysere Payne wasn’t far behind with 10 points. Patrick Graves finished with 10 points.

Grimsley 77 – Ragsdale 49

Grimsley came out and went to work early on against Ragsdale, jumping out to a 24-11 first-quarter lead and they were able to continue that trend throughout. Isaiah Whitsett set the tone with his scoring power, eventually scoring 27 points in the game while Henry Trent went for 18 points. Malachi King finished with 19 points to lead Ragsdale.

Page 77 – SE Guilford 63

This was a very competitive game early on, with both teams trading blows and showcasing good offensive games. Page was able to take the narrow lead but this game was tight until the fourth quarter, with Page outscoring SE Guilford 22-12 to eventually win this one. yren Martin was impressive with 29 points and 16 rebounds for Page, while Justin Geter led the charge for SE Guilford with 18 points.

Day 2 – Girls

Greensboro Day 62 – SE Guilford 26

Much like on the boys’ side, ramped up its play on the defensive end quickly putting this game out of reach. After taking a 19-point first-quarter lead, they continued to increase their lead throughout. Candice Williams led the way with 17 points while Liz Wyrick had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds for GDS, while Gabby Totten had 8 points for SE Guilford.

Smith 56 – Page 46

Very good game throughout, as both teams battled. Smith was able to take the narrow advantage early on and build upon that heading into halftime, leading by double-digits. Page was able to continue to battle but Smith was able to maintain their lead for much of the second half, eventually winning by 10 points. Kalicia DeBerry finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Armani Williams was impressive with 19 points and 16 boards as well for Smith. Lola Vanore went for 21 points for Page.

Bishop McGuinness 52 – Grimsley 32

Excellent matchup between two strong teams, Bishop McGuinness really ramped up and created havoc defensively, limiting Grismley to single digits through the first, second, and third quarters. With that, they could showcase their offense and build their lead as Aelaide Jernigan was dominant and Morgan Aho was on the glass. Jernigan finished with 27 points to lead the charge.

Ragsdale 49 – Dudley 48

Intense game that was a battle throughout. It was one of the tightest games we had throughout the event, but it was Ragsdale that was able to secure the victory and make a statement in Greensboro on Friday.

Day 1 – Boys

Greensboro Day 74 – Ragsdale 26

GDS used a balanced attack and created a ton of havoc defensively in this one, as Ragsdale recorded 24 turnovers in the game and GDS was able to nearly double the amount of field goal attempts in this one. 2028 Micah Gunter led the charge with 13 points while Addison Newkirk had 12, but overall 13 players scored in this game for GDS. Angel Rhodes led Ragsdale with 12 points.

Grimsley 39 – Dudley 52

Very interesting game early on as it was a tight tone, with Dudley taking the narrow lead after the first quarter and building upon that heading into halftime. Dudley continued to simply win each quarter which helped them secure a double-digit win, as CJ Jones and Kamron McNeil both finished with 12 points each. Zion Nichols chipped in with 11 points as well. Dudley shot 60 percent from the floor in this game, compared to 32 percent for Grimsley, as Brodie Atkins was the only player in double digits (14) for Grimsley.

Ben L. Smith 81 – SE Guilford 56

Smith came out strong offensively both in the first and second quarters to secure a double-digit lead. But they didn’t back off in the third either, as they outscored SE Guilford 27-13 to take a commanding lead and all but seal this game up. Jyi Dawkins was off the charts with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Kady’n Turner Scott had 14 points as well. SE Guilford was able to find some success with Justin Geter scoring 21 points and Byron Arant-Coleman having 14 as well.

Bishop McGuinness 73 – Page 58

This was a close one in the first quarter, with Bishop holding the 21-20 edge against the Pirates. But Bishop McGuinness was able to buckle down and earn a double-digit lead heading into halftime, 37-27. Though Page was looking to fight back, Bishop once again made a statement in the fourth and secured the 15-point win. Page had its offense going, securing 64 attempts but only shot 37.5 percent from the floor. Bishop finished with an impressive five players in double-figures, with Nichols Graves leading the way with 17 points. Mason Duggins had 13 points to lead Page.

Day 1 – Girls

Southeast Guilford 67 – Smith 33

SE Guilford came out strong and put this game away early, jumping out early and eventually taking a 47-14 halftime lead. They never looked back in this one, as Morgan Odom led the way with 16 points for SE Guilford while Smith was led by London Haith with 17 points.

Greensboro Day 52 – Page 37

It was a tight battle early on but a strong second quarter is what eventually opened up his game, as GDS outscored Page 18-6. From ten on, GDS was able to maintain its lead, as Candice Wiliams led the way with 16 points and Lola Vanore finished with 18 points for Page.

Bishop McGuinness 57 – Ragsdale 39

Another tight battle in the first quarter with Bishop leading by one but Bishop McGuinness outscored Ragsdale 20-5 in the second quarter and really opened this one up on their way to a Day 1 victory. Brooke Parker led the way with 12 points for Ragsdale but it was Adelaide Jernigan and company that had a strong showing with Jernigan finishing with 19 points.

Grimsley 41 – Dudley 19

Grimsley made a statement early on, jumping out to an early 18-4 lead after the first quarter and that is really all they needed to get this one in the books. Strong defensive play overall in limiting Dudley, as Shyla Simms led the way with 13 points for Grimsley.
