The Phenom Lakesgiving was an off-the-charts event once again, and there were plenty of players who left the event leaving a statement. But a player who may have been considered the event MVP or who left the biggest impression on us was Lake Norman’s point guard in 2026 Nick Arnold.

On so many occasions, Arnold has left a lasting impression on our scouts, as the 5’11 guard simply competes and players with a tremendous motor; you simply can’t walk away without noticing his play. He is a true leader on the court and leads by example; though he may be 5’11 he plays a lot bigger than listed and with a ton of heart.

At the Phenom Lakesgiving, Arnold was off the charts with how he impacted the game. He is one that you want to have the ball in his hands, as he is a tough, gritty guard who understands how to lead the offense and make high IQ decisions. He does a great job of embracing contact and attacking the defense, penetrating and getting inside the defense, scoring well over taller defenders, and doing a great job in finishing as well as making an impact on the boards. Arnold scored time after time inside, being physical and getting to his spots, finding ways to get on the glass and score, and also facilitating to set up other teammates well. His ability to attack in transition but also play under control and at his pace is impressive, and that doesn’t even mention his ability to be a strong on-ball defender.

His past three-game stats pretty much sum up what we saw. Against Mount Tabor, along with his games against Marvin Ridge and HP Christian at the Lakesgiving, Arnold has been averaging 23ppg, and has racked up 19 rebounds, 19 assists, and 12 steals. But these numbers have been consistent with what we have seen over the years with his game. Which is why college coaches should be heading this way sooner rather than later.
