2025 6’10 Nate Ament Continuing to Look Like a Pro

Friday night was a fun one up in Virginia, as there was plenty of talent to go around to watch. But of course, all eyes were on one of the top players in the country in 2025 6’10 Nate Ament and he didn’t disappoint with 31 points on Day 1. Ament is such an intriguing prospect with his size, his fluidity, his ability to score from all levels, and with his ability to be a matchup nightmare. Ament has such a smooth-paced game but does a great job in operating around the basket, backing opponents down, creating off the dribble to get to his spots, knocking down perimeter shots from behind the arc, and simply being able to produce despite teams’ focused on slowing him down. On Day 1, he was able to get things going from the free throw line, as he created a ton of contact and his opponent was trying all they could do to slow him down. But he also showed his perimeter shot-making, his ability to make plays off the bounce, and just bring tremendous value. But again, we believe that there is still more upside left in his game, which is why so many outlets have him as a Top-10 prospect in the country.

2027 Jordan Page taking the next strides with his game

Another player that we were eager to see was nationally ranked 2027 Jordan Page for Broughton, getting a chance to see what development he has made over the last few months. Page overall can be physically overpowering with his college frame and strength. He uses that really well to his advantage, attacking downhill, getting to the rim at will, scoring well in the paint, and excelling really well on the boards (something that doesn’t get talked about enough). But what we saw also was an improvement in his perimeter shooting, displaying a more confident and smooth release from mid-range and behind the arc.  That was an area he could continue to work on but having HC Scott Wood and company there, seems to be helping.

2025 Ashton Walker is FUN to watch for Catholic

We haven’t had much of a chance to watch Radford commit 2025 Ashton Walker but watching him on Friday night against Highland, he certainly put on a show in front of his home crowd.  Walker was so much fun to watch when the ball was in his hands, being a big-time, aggressive playmaker. He was excellent out in transition, getting out and attacking with his speed, and really pushing the pace to put pressure on the defense to stop him.  He was able to get to the rim consistently but also found ways to create for himself, playing with high energy and not settling. Walker was just a joy to watch operate on the court, as he looked to put on a show and had a bit of something to prove.

Plenty of Other Players to Watch for More

2028 Kelvin Anderson (Catholic) – A young guard who has speed and playmaking in his game. Liked the flashes of his ability to create, playing hard on both sides, and his ability to be a playmaker. Holds D1 offers already and should be a name to watch more.

2029 Jaiden Hunter / 2029 6’6 Paxton Tolliver (Miller School) – Two very young prospects that capture your eyes with their size and length, but also gave us a few flashes with their ability to make plays. Still a ways to go but we are here early for these two prospects in the coming years.

2026 Hudson Fitzgerald (Broughton) – Fitzgerald is one we have talked about on several occasions, but deserves more looks with his ability to be an effective shooter. He does a great job opening up the offense, has a quick release, and has a good IQ for the game.
