Phenom: How did everything go this summer for you on the basketball court? What were you able to show and develop with your game?
Kretkowski:  This summer was very solid as I learned a lot about myself. I become a more efficient shooter by working with great trainers who have done it at the highest levels for years. I also became stronger and learnt how to play off two feet more often to play make and finish strong. Most importantly I learned how to play with energy every game while becoming a leader as I get older.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game early on and how you like to operate?
Kretkowski: I love getting downhill and out in transition using my athleticism. I’m active on the defensive end being a shot blocker and being active in passive lanes. I can play off the ball hitting the catch and shoot, or cutting back door the create opportunity.

Phenom: What is your excitement about the upcoming high school season? What are your goals?
Kretkowski: My main goal is to win a state championship with my team, but overall just to have a better season than last year and enjoy the process with my guys.

Phenom: Recruitment has been going well early on. Thoughts on the latest offer?
Kretkowski: The Rutgers visit was a great experience and talking to Coach Pikiell was a great opportunity. It was cool to see all the facilities and campus along with the team.

Phenom: What are the other offers you hold?
Kretkowski: I have Bryant, Pepperdine, Florida State, Arizona State, and now Rutgers.

Phenom: What have schools been saying they like about your game early on?
Kretkowski: The schools have said they like that I can do a little bit of everything on the floor. Most importantly I’ve heard they love my effort and energy, and how I am active on the defensive end and on the glass.

Phenom: What schools have been strong as afar as interest early on?
Kretkowski: Rutgers has been a major one because they are local; Marist as well.

Phenom: Any dream schools or schools you would like to visit down the road?
Kretkowski: Florida State would be a great experience when the time is right. I have no specific dream schools, more just hoping to play for an experienced coach in a top-tier conference.
