We now take a look at players that we are starting to learn more about or young prospects that you will want to jot down and watch this upcoming season, as they look to try to help their team out this upcoming high school season. Here are a few names that have impressed so far at the Hoop State Fall League.

2027 McKennon Showers (Lincoln Charter)

Showers is a new name personally for me and it was great watching him in action. The 5’6 scrappy and quick point guard played extremely well and controlled the game for his team. He has a strong blend of speed, quickness, and change of direction to get defenders guessing but also has a lot of confidence in his decision-making as well as his ability to knock down shots or create. Really liked his ability to make plays off the bounce and in transition.

2027 Jeremy Duhon (Gaston Christian)

Duhon, the son of coach Chris Duhon, is one who was able to show some flashes last year and ultimately earned himself minutes in the rotation for his team. Now, he is a player that should only continue to build on last year and be a key piece with his ability to get to his spots, knock down shots from the perimeter, and continue to add more to his game.

2029 Kingston Cardwell (D1 Sports Academy)

Cardwell is a young player that we have seen before, and the future looks extremely bright for this young point guard. He plays more like a veteran on the court instead of a player in middle school, as he displays incredible quickness and creativity, as well as an understanding of how to run the show and be a creator on the court. A player at his age, it is fun to watch one that plays with such confidence and can be electric with the ball in his hands. One to watch more down the road.

2027 Noah Wilson (Lake Norman)

Lake Norman has plenty of talent and depth, and one player that looks to be a bright spot for this program down the road is 6’3 Noah Wilson. He plays with a good demeanor on the court, showing a nice understanding of the game.  He can play off the ball to be a shooter but also create for himself and use his size to his advantage.  Wilson would be another prospect to watch more as he develops and gets more opportunities.

2027 Lavonte Jackson (Chambers)

Chambers has plenty of talent on the court once again, but Jackson is a young guard who should be a nice X-factor on the court. He can help as a ball-handler, find and create opportunities, and also be a big factor in knocking down shots from outside.  He should be a nice rotation piece to help provide more depth to this team.

2026 Lajalin Overton (Mallard Creek)

Overton may be a bit older than the other players, but he is a new player that was able to show some flashes for Mallard Creek in Week 2. Not only does he bring desperate size to this team at 6’6, but he is one that can be an option in a variety of ways; scoring inside, active on the glass, and comfortable in stepping out at times.
