Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player:  Zymicah Wilkins
Class: 2025
Committed to: NC State

“The big man was consistent throughout the camp and had some bright moments in which he was able to shine and showcase his feel for the game. And then, in the championship game, he had a breakout-type performance, going for 29 points and 14 rebounds to lead his team in a tight battle. Wilkins is one that I believe gets overlooked on the national radar, but there is still room for growth in his game. He has great hands, he is nimble on his feet, can face up and score but also body up defenders in the post to score.  Wilkins represented NC well down in Florida, and his championship showing may have opened a few more eyes his way.”

“He’s a highly skilled, intelligent post prospect with an extremely polished skillset and the ability to cause a variety of different problems for opponents. Wilkins scores from the block, midrange area, beyond the arc, and off the bounce. He possesses soft touch, elite footwork, and a smooth jumper. His overall skillset makes him a legitimate matchup problem for opponents. Wilkins passes and handles the ball at a high level for his size/position and has no issue creating opportunities for himself or others. He can initiate the offense or pick his spots with relative ease. Wilkins is a phenomenal two-way rebounder with the necessary skill to make excellent outlet passes or push the break himself. He contains his assignment well and knows how to properly position himself defensively.”

“He’s a smart, skilled, polished forward/post prospect with advanced touch, vision, creation skills, and the instincts to operate in the post or along the perimeter. Wilkins absorbs contact extremely well as a scorer, defender, and two-way rebounder. He can reliably score from all levels, run the floor well in transition, and stand out as a leader by example on both ends of the floor. Wilkins looks to make unselfish passes and hustle plays whenever possible. It’s quite difficult to point out any glaring weaknesses within his identity, especially at his age.”
