Phenom Hoops released its 2026 North Carolina Rankings, and there are so many players to be looking at for college programs of all levels. We have been highlighting several names already, but now we take a look a bit deeper into the rankings of sneaky prospects that we will have our eyes on and others should too.

2026 Rankings: https://www.phenomhoopreport.com/2026-north-carolina-rankings-watch-list/

2026 6’4 Kaleel Benjamin (Sun Valley)

Benjamin had a good showing this summer, showing his potential on several occasions and most of what he is capable of providing. Benjamin displayed more of his shot-making ability, his athleticism and ability to make plays, and his understanding of how to make plays inside and out.  One can see his confidence continue to grow and with a strong summer, more eyes could be heading his way.

2026 6’6 Onur Kurucu (1of1 Academy)

Kurucu has really had a good showing all summer long; he was consistent throughout and really brought a strong force to the court for his team. Kurucu is a physically strong and demanding prospect down low, embracing contact, finishing through defenders, carving out space, and being a strong force on the boards.  Here is a player who has really opened more eyes his way and could be a sneaky prospect for a college program.

2026 6’4 Kady’n Turner-Scott (Walkertown)

A familiar name to continue to watch for, Turner-Scott brings good value to the court with his size, ability to play multiple positions, and be a viable scoring option on the court. He had a good season last year and he could continue to elevate his game more with his comfort level in stretching the floor, posting up smaller opponents, and attacking out in transition.

2026 6’2 Ryan Chen (Bull City Prep)

Another name that really popped this summer was Chen, as the 6’2 guard was able to show just how effective he can be on the court as well as a game-changer when shots are falling. He understands what he is and where he excels, as he can knock down shots from outside with tremendous confidence. But he continues to put in the work and add more to his game, as he makes smart decisions and finds other ways to make plays. Again though, his ability to open up the offense and his shot-making make him very intriguing.
