Phenom Hoops is gearing up for a tremendous high school season and we can’t wait. We are already looking at teams and storylines heading into the season, and a team of interest that we are excited to see is Cox Mill. The Chargers had a good season last year but finished 13-14 overall. Even though some of the talent is now gone, which would really make this team strong, they still return some strong names that have another year under their belt. We talk about a few of the players of interest to watch out for, as Cox Mill is one I would have my eye on more this season.
2025 6’4 James Carswell
Carswell was a player that captured our eyes on a few occasions last year at several events, including the Holiday Classic. He has good size and brings good production to the table, finding ways to score from the perimeter or take advantage of using his size to score around the basket. He plays with a strong motor along with a tremendous combination of size, creation, and three-level scoring.
2027 6’3 Teeshon Smith
Smith was a well-known name last year and with key players gone and a year under his belt, I believe that this is the year for Smith to breakout even more. He will be counted on to be a leader on the court and a true offensive scoring presence. Smith has good handles, gets to the rim at ease, finishes well around the rim, can be assertive and gets to the free-throw line, and understands his offensive capabilities. There is a lot of potential in his game and this could be the year for him.
2027 6’1 Cruz Miller
Miller was another player that introduced himself last year and we expect him to take that next step after a strong summer. The 6’1 guard really understands how to impact the game on both sides of the court, using his length and athleticism to his advantage and excels offensively in getting downhill and off the dribble. He is capable from the perimeter and can guard multiple positions.
After these three prospects, we fully expect others to step up as well and make a name for themselves. Cox Mill was a strong outing every night last year and with another year under their belt, this could be a sneaky team to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
