Fast-forward to today, Wingfield is one of the top prospects in the country, is nationally ranked, and holds double-digit offers as he has continued to develop and be a force. We spoke with Wingfield more about his development and got a little update on his recruitment, as he will be a hot target for many.

Development this Summer:

“I’ll say improving my ball-handling,” Wingfield said.  “I started working hard on it and started doing it in the game, I just took it to a whole different level of play style. I also lost 15 pounds, so I was feeling kind of skinny and moving faster. I was just thinking one move and blow-by dunk.”

After a strong summer, Wingfield is locked and loaded in what he hopes to be a very good high school season. The talented forward is ready to be the guy and be a force on the court, saying that he is ready to “play my game and be the one; just be Jalan Wingfield.”

Recruitment Update:

Wingfield has had a strong summer as he has been rising up the ranks nationally and has been earning the attention of high-major programs around the country.  He recently added an offer from California but also holds offers from Mississippi State, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Western Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Georgia, USF, Florida State, DePaul, and several others.

In speaking with Wingfield about some of the latest, he said that schools that have been targeting him the most as of late have been South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Florida State, and Georgia Tech.  And schools that have yet to offer but have been showing interest his way have been Auburn and Missouri.

When it comes to visits, Wingfield hasn’t been able to set up any visits in the near future.
