The Coach Ricks TOC was a terrific event that allowed us at Phenom Hoops to check out several new names and players. We wanted to dive into a few of those players that we saw, and 6’2 Ethan Daniel was a player that captured several of our scouts’ eyes with his play.
Daniel was one that was able to make his impact felt on both sides of the court. He has good size and length, impacts the game offensively and defensively, and plays with tremendous energy/motor on the court. When we were watching him at the event, Daniel was one who consistently got the job done offensively. He scored well in driving and attacking, finding ways to get inside the defense and score at the basket, and allow his defense to turn into offense. Daniel did a great job in getting in the passing lanes and being active defensively to create steals and quickly turn it into offense. On several occasions, he finished strong through contact but was also able to mix it up in a variety of ways. Daniel was able to get some early playing time at Forestview last year but he could take the next step in his game and could be a name you hear more around his area.
What Was Said:
“Daniels was a new name that we learned about, and he certainly was strong in his ability to be a playmaker, score off the bounce, get to the rim and finish, and also impact the game in a variety of other ways. Daniels was active both offensively and defensively, getting out in the passing lanes and allowing his defense to turn into offense. Really liked his energy throughout.”
