We continue our coverage of the Phenom High School Team Camp, which has been off the charts the past two weeks. Many players have shown they have taken the next step, and we are eager to see what they will be able to do this upcoming season. One player that impressed a lot was 2025 6’3 Johnniyus Sharpe with Reidsville, as he certainly proved he has taken his game to another level.
Sharpe has been having a strong season overall, helping lead his team offensively and showing to many that he may be one of the better offensive threats in the state for his class. He first went off for 29 points in Game 1 and then backed that up with a 33-point performance, simply doing it all. Sharpe has elevated his game, especially in his ability to knock down shots from multiple levels. He is dangerous from the perimeter, rising up with his athleticism and comfortably knocking down shots with range and consistency. Time after time, he hit multiple threes or mid-range shots with ease but he mixed it up extremely well. Attacking off the bounce, getting to his spots in catch-and-shoot situations, and finishing at the rim… he effectively put on a show offensively. And it looks like he has a tremendous opportunity to continue that trend this upcoming season.
Last year, he had a terrific season in helping lead his team to an undefeated season. He finished averaging 18.2 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists for his team, and those numbers may only increase this upcoming season as a senior. Sharpe has clearly taken that next step and we believe that schools will be coming his way, and his recruitment should only be on the rise.
