Heading north to New Hampshire, Phenom Hoops was able to sit down and talk to 2025 6’6 Ryder Frost, who is coming off a tremendous year in which he earned Player of the Year honors at Phillips Exter Academy. He is also a target for many college programs in the Class of 2025, as he consistently has garnered attention from college programs.

Frost talks more about his season and his development, we learn more about his game, and some of the latest news in his recruitment. Check out what he had to say.

Phenom: How was everything this past season for you and your team?

Frost: This past season was great for us as a team and me individually. We were able to win the Class A championship and I was able to win Class A Player of the Year which was really cool. We just kept getting better throughout the year and we were playing well during the end of the season.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game and how you like to operate? Where do you flourish?

Frost: I’m a high IQ versatile wing that can stretch the floor with my shooting, guard multiple positions with other wings and bigs, and rebound and get out in transition.

Phenom: What areas of your game have you been working on to develop?

Frost: I’ve mainly been working on my ball handling, getting quicker with the ball, and working on my lateral quickness defensively. Those have been two things I’ve really emphasized on to get better at over the last year.

Phenom: What are your thoughts on your latest offer? What did the staff have to say, who has been your main contact, and what all do you know about them?

Frost: My latest offer was from UIC. The head Coach, Rob Ehsan, was the assistant coach at Stanford and he was the main coach in contact with me from Stanford, he then got the UIC job and offered me within the first few days.

Phenom: What other offers do you hold? And who has been strong with you from those? Also, what other schools have been showing interest that have yet to offer?

Frost: I have other offers from Penn State, Harvard, Vermont, Rhode Island, Brown, Umass, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Fairfield, and Le Moyne. Some other schools that have been in contact are Notre Dame, Yale, Princeton, Richmond, and Davidson.

Phenom: What schools have you been able to visit? If so, what did you like about each?

Frost: I took an official visit to Harvard back in the fall before the high school season and that was an awesome experience. I have also taken unofficial visits to Penn State, Rhode Island, Brown, UMass, and Fairfield. I also took an unofficial visit to Yale over the summer.

Phenom: Any schools you want to visit or any visits you have set up in the future?

Frost: I don’t have any visits lined up for the spring or summer yet, really just focused on getting better and playing with The Middlesex Magic this AAU season.
