Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the March Madnessing Piedmont! The Great One is here to release his yearly QC 3A/4A superlatives and say “farewell” until the Holiday season. This conference season shook down pretty much as predicted but a surprise transfer and trouble in school altered the landscape somewhat. North Meck continued its run of league titles, culminating in a third state championship. Chambers also made it to the regionals but lost at Lake Norman. We now move to travel ball season which is always fun to attend so you just might glimpse The Sadster this summer. A familiar face in the QC conference won’t be around anymore as long-time North Meck assistant, Charles Blackwood, is retiring from the Vikings’ staff. “Coach Chuck” as the Vikings called him, went out in style as his 500th and final game was the state championship game. What a storybook ending! Without further delay, we now will see who got all-conference accolades including, but not limited to, the always important Hot Dog of the Year Award. TO THE TEAMS!!!!

There you have it folks! This season is in the books and next season promises to bring many memories and drama. Remember, when you’re enjoying Thanksgiving Dinner, The Great One will be burning the midnight oil researching for the coming season. Now get out to summer hoops events and watch some great hoops! The Sadster now will sign off gives his traditional farewell…..” may all your putts fall in the leather”.Â
