Out in California at the SoCal Pro League, 2026 Rodney Westmoreland III was a player that we had a great chance to view, and a guard that impressed us. When talking about Westmoreland’s game, one couldn’t help by notice just how quick and shifty he operates on the court. He excelled in his ability to create and make plays off the bounce, get by defenders with ease, create extremely well for others, and be that playmaker. Phenom Hoops spoke more to him to learn more about his game and see if schools have been showing interest his way.Â

This is a guard to certainly check out more!

Game Description:

“As a point guard, I like to control the tempo of the game and make sure my teammates are in the right spots at the right times. I like to bring the best out of my teammates, help them take easier shots by blowing by my man, and making the right read. Me personally, I think that I excel with my basketball IQ and my speed, using my speed helps me create shots for myself and my teammates. Using my speed and IQ in transition, I feel like I’m unguardable.”

This High School Season and Development:

“This year was a growth and maturing time for me. Being the youngest player on varsity for two years was a challenge, but I learned what it takes to lead a team and it is by my action and words. This summer, I look to develop more 3-point opportunities versus attacking the basket as much as I do.”

Recruiting Update:

“I have received early interest from Colorado, St. Mary’s, Texas Tech, Stanford, and Mississippi State. My dream school is North Carolina. Being from the Bay Area, I was invited to Elite Camps at St. Mary’s, also getting a chance to see the program and campus. Â
