The Carolina Riptide is a premier program here in North Carolina, and we have a great opportunity to watch one of their younger teams in the Riptide 2027. This is a team that brings a lot of balance and should have names to check out. However, these three players really stood out throughout the weekend and should be catalysts all summer long.
2027 CP Perry
Perry is a point guard who simply understands the position and has a tremendous feel for the game at a young age. He excels well with the ball in his hands, running the offense, seeing the floor, displaying tremendous handles and making confident passes, as well as being a strong offensive weapon. Scoring-wise, he can really flourish as a creator but hurt you in multiple ways, inside and out. That is on top of his court awareness and vision in finding his teammates.
2027 Jacob Mills
Mills is another guard that can fill it up and do so quickly. He is at his best when he is playing off the ball, allowing him to get to his spots on the court and knocking it down from deep. Time after time, he just has a knack for finding the open spots in the defense and having a tremendous amount of confidence from behind the arc, letting it fly, and can do so quickly. But he isn’t a one-trick pony, making plays off the dribble as well.
2027 Drew Neve
Neve brings such an impact to the court and should be a huge piece for the Riptide this year. Not only does he bring the size needed at 6’5, but it is also his willingness to compete and fight for his team. He plays with a high motor, loves to get on the boards and be that physical presence, defends multiple positions and brings energy on that side of the ball, and also is willing to battle down in the paint offensively. Neve certainly gets it done on both sides of the ball.
