In the scouting world, there are players that you get to see at a young age and simply understand that there is something different with them. That they have the talent and upside to be something special, and their ceiling is higher than others. 2026 6’5 Tarris Bouie was one of those players; we have talked about him countless times over the years with his blend of length, shot-making, skill set, and upside.  Over a year ago, we had this to say.

“The 6’5 long prospect gave us a glimpse of what could be coming this summer and at Chambers in the coming years, as you could see that Bouie was displaying more of his overall game and assertiveness. There is a lot to like about his potential early on; he is an extremely long prospect which makes you wonder how much bigger he could get. But then you add his game into the mix; his ability to create and use his length to finish over or around defenders, his ability to make plays off the bounce and get to his spots, his range on his shot from all levels, and how tough of a matchup he can be with his skill set and size.” Our very own Jeff Bendel had this to say about a month later. “At 6-foot-5, Bouie is steadily becoming one of the more dynamic players in North Carolina’s Class of 2026. He’s a high-level shooting threat from pretty much everywhere on the floor, yet is much more than a mere spot-up option. Bouie mixes up his scoring approach extremely well to highlight a healthy variety of finishes, pull-ups, and jumpers from beyond the arc. He’s great at creating space within a few dribbles, getting to his spots, and pulling up and converting over the outstretched arms of contesting defenders. Bouie also looks to attack closeouts whenever possible, where he’s shown vision, craftiness, and an understanding of how to make correct decisions. He finishes fairly well through contact and amidst traffic, but will become even better with physical development. Additionally, Bouie plays very well without the ball in his hands, both as a cutter and spot-up threat, and simply knows how to lead by example. He battles defensively, competes on the glass, and is capable of doing everything offensively.”

And it seems that he continues to add more to his game, elevate his level of confidence, and still has a ton of upside left in the tank that could make him even more appealing. Bouie is one that has that takeover mentality and simply has the tools to be an offensive threat all over the court. And right now, teams aren’t wasting time to jump on board with offers as he continues to attract eyes all over the country.

Recruitment:

After his 40-point outburst in the playoffs, even more schools started to take notice and he received his biggest offer yet. Wake Forest, his first ACC offer, came first and then he later added one from Samford, as they joined Hampton, Radford, High Point, Charleston, Charlotte, and Mount St. Mary’s.

“I’m highly blessed for the offer,” Bouie said about the Wake Forest offer. “I’m looking forward to keeping in contact with them. It means a lot to me, just have to stay focused, keep grinding, and work hard on my craft.”

He also had this to say about Samford: “They are a great school; I will also keep in contact with them.”

Outside the schools that have offered, Georgia is another school that has been expressing interest his way.
