Spurlock is an explosive triple-threat scoring machine. A prolific three-point sniper. Jacob currently holds the school record for made threes in a season with 120 last year and the most ever made in a season for the 16th region record. Over all his 320 threes made is a school record and second all-time in the 16th region. Jacob will take down that overall record of 348 threes most likely by season’s end. Currently, Jacob is 4th all-time in points in school history with 1663 total points. He is a clutch shotmaker who wants the ball in his hands when it matters most. Tough and gritty who finds a way to the shots he wants. But that’s not all he brings. Jacob is currently sitting on 480 rebounds and 20 rebounds away from 500 in his career, which also will be achieved by season’s end. A scrappy defender and can drop some nice dimes when needed. High IQ and a natural at finding those spots to knock down shots.

In the AAU session, playing for the Indiana Elite 3SSB 2026 team led them in three-point makes and averaged 13-15 points per game. Jacob’s best AAU memory was playing in the Adidas 3SSB Championship last year in Rockhill, SC. In that close battle, they had a chance to win but came up a little short but that competitive battle is one Jacob won’t soon forget. The biggest improvement has been getting stronger. Jacob lived in the weight room this off-season and added 10-15 pounds of muscle which allows him to play better on the defensive side of the ball. Not only that it will give the ability to power through physical contact to get those tough baskets. And I witnessed both in real-time against cross-town rival Ashland. This season Jacob is averaging 22.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Just won their district Championship.

Jacob just broke that three-point record for a season this week now at 121 made threes and still currently 2nd all-time in the region with 327 made career 3s. Finished the season 24-6 and a breakout game scoring 36 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block.

Coaches should know they are getting a fierce competitor and a warrior who can deliver on any stage offensively and defensively with the drive to keep getting better every day. But he also takes his academics just as seriously. Jacob is a high-level D1 prospect right now and the ceiling is very high and we’re watching a special talent budding right before our eyes. He desires to further his education and play basketball in college and he doesn’t care about division level but the joy of continuing to play this game he loves.Â
