The Phenom Prep Showcase was a tremendous event that offered us an opportunity to find new talent or to check in on a few familiar names as well. One team that offered a strong duo that college coaches should get to know, Charlotte Elite Academy was able to let its team shine in a big way. 2024 Jared Taylor and 2026 Jordan King are two that grabbed our attention at the event, as we break down more of what we saw.

2024 Jared Taylor

Taylor is one that we have put a spotlight on before, as he continues to produce and display a strong feel down around the basket. Whether it was at the Prep Showcase or earlier this year at the Hoop State League, Taylor just brings an athletic, physical feel around the basket that can be hard to slow down. Taylor is extremely explosive around the basket and runs the floor well, using that same athleticism to his advantage. He can get high and finish with authority time after time at the rim but also brings a physical presence down in the paint on both sides. Taylor is a go-to player for his team and has been consistent each time we watch him, really racking up the points as well as being able to record double-digit boards.

2026 Jordan King

King is another guard that we have talked about before and he continues to flourish and develop his overall feel for the game. This is a young guard who has a strong blend of playmaking ability and creativity, knowing how to run the offense and be a playmaker, not force what isn’t there, and gets his teammates involved. But every time we see him on the court, he really flourishes when he is in attack mode, displaying an understanding of how to attack, showing quickness in his game, and the ability to really score from multiple levels and at the rim. He is one that I would look at and keep an eye on.
