Offers: Boston University, Loyola (MD), William & Mary, UMBC, American, Towson, Navy

Season Overview:

“The season has been going well. We have a strong record which is good since we haven’t had a good season in a while. I’ve been doing well leading in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks for the team. This led me to get a lot of attention from college coaches so far.”

Handling Expectations this Season:

“At the end of the day, I’m humble and appreciate that I got here, so the attention isn’t too much. I’m glad I’m getting it, but the attention isn’t too much to worry about. Elevating my play just took a lot of time, working out in the gym in the offseason and during the season. Yes, it comes with more expectations, but I’ve been working on it a lot recently and I’ve been playing well, so I’ve been handling it well.”

Game Description:

“My game is just inside and out as a forward. I can shoot threes, play the post, play the wing occasionally, push the ball up the court, and find my open teammates. I also play defense against anyone that comes in front of me. I think a quicker Anthony Davis is who I try to model my game after.”

Recruitment Update:

Fields recently added yet another offer, with Boston University being the latest school on his list. He quietly has been catching the eyes of many schools around the area, as well as garnering new interests his way. Things have certainly been changing for the good since his sophomore season, and he could continue to grow with a strong summer.

“Recruiting has gone pretty well. I didn’t get a lot of hype my sophomore year and I didn’t get any offers in August. Now, I have seven offers and several interests from schools along the East Coast and South, so I think it is going well and I’m glad I am where I am.”

When talking more with the coaches and schools, the consistent message that he has been hearing is that they really like his versatility and how he could free up their offense. They are hoping to use him in an array of ways, especially allowing him to work freely at his size.

Schools that have been showing interest his way have been UNCG, Yale, Howard, Air Force, UMass-Lowell, Chattanooga, Iona, Columbia, Richmond, and Dartmouth.

As far as visits, here is what he had to say.

“I want to visit all the schools that I have interest from to see the campus and learn more about them. I don’t think there is a dream school but Oregon has always been a cool school to visit.”
