South Carolina is loaded with underrated talent and teams, and it is time we start highlighting more players and teams from around the state. All throughout this season, teams have been playing at a high level, and they deserve the attention.

Team: Lexington Wildcats

Cameron Scott: 22.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.2apg
Jaxon Prunty: 18.2ppg, 4.7rpg, 3.5apg
Kaleb Evans: 14.1ppg, 4.6rpg, 4.2apg
Caleb Campbell: 6.8ppg, 5.9pg, 1.0apg

There is no doubt about it coming into the season that Lexington had its eye on the prize once again this season, and they have been backing that up in impressive fashion. They have hit the 20+ mark in wins, testing themselves in the state of South Carolina and throughout the region.

When you look at this team, they could have three of the top players in the state in 2024 Cameron Scott, who is headed to Texas, along with 2024 Jaxon Prunty and 2025 Kaleb Evans, two premier talents in the state of South Carolina. Scott, who is nationally ranked, has been showcasing why he is one of the top players, averaging 22.6ppg, shooting 40 percent from three (3.2 made threes per game) and nearly 69 percent inside the arc. His ability to fill it up is impressive, being a true three-level scorer with length and athleticism. Prunty has had a strong season as well, being able to score inside and out at 6’6, as well as rebounding and finding teammates. Evans is another player who has been elevating his play and taking the next steps in his development, showing his ability to create and strong handles, along with his scoring impact and athleticism as a guard. These three certainly have led the charge, but players like Caleb Campbell (6.8ppg), Coulter Bell (5.9ppg), Montrell Byrd (4.1ppg), Brayden Rollins (3.1ppg), and others have been valuable role players for this team.

There is no doubt about it, the Wildcats have the talent once again to finish on top and they have proven to be one of the best teams throughout the state.
