A player that we have seen popping up more in the recruiting world has been 2024 Isaiah Sy at Cloud County CC, as he has been racking in D1 offers as of late. But Sy is a player that we have watched on several occasions before, mostly during his time playing at Combine Academy.
When talking about Sy’s game, he was always an intriguing prospect with his length and size, along with his shot-making ability from either outside or from mid-range. Time after time, we talked about his ability to rise over defenders, get to his spots, and knock down shots in catch-and-shoot situations, bringing a strong versatility to the court. Back in April of 2023, we had this to say at our event:
“2023 Isaiah Sy (Combine) is an intriguing late prospect. 6’7, fluid, skilled, and does a great job in displaying his versatility and ability to knock down shots from an array of areas with his smooth release. #PhenomQueenCity†– Patrick O’Brien

“Sy is an intriguing prospect with his 6’7 frame and ability to make plays from a variety of levels. He showed consistently his ability to pull-up from a variety of levels, stretching the defense and showing his confidence in his release, but also was able to use his mobility and size to attack the basket and make plays as well.â€
Now at Cloud County CC, Sy has been catching the attention of many in which he is averaging nearly 12 points per game and is shooting 48 percent from three (56 made 3-pointers so far this season).
We spoke to Sy about the latest going on and his season. See what he had to say.
Phenom: How has everything been going at Cloud County CC and how has your game been developing?
Sy: Basketball-wise, everything has been great, my recruitment started picking up after Christmas break and we’re doing a great job with the team. Since I’m at Cloud County, I developed my skills with the staff here and really enjoy playing with my teammates. Looking forward to winning the conference this year!
Phenom: You bet on yourself, and it is now paying off, what have college coaches been saying they like about your game?
Sy: Most of the college coaches are saying that they like my shooting ability, my length, capacity to rebound the ball, and my basketball IQ.

Sy: Maine, Manhattan, Sacramento State, Alabama A&M, Idaho State
Phenom: What other schools have been showing interest?
Sy: Utah State, Wyoming, FDU, IUPUI, Portland State, Utah Valley, UC Riverside, UIC.
