It is getting to be that time of the year when there are still unsigned seniors who should clearly be targets for so many college programs. At times, I feel like programs may overlook or overthink when it comes to some players, especially when they are looking to secure a late commitment from an unsigned senior.  Now granted, other factors come into play, especially with the transfer portal. But these players below should be huge priorities for D1 college programs, and it doesn’t take long to see.Â
The time is now college coaches, so don’t miss out!
2024 Kameron Taylor (Carmel Christian):
Taylor has had a huge season for Carmel Christian, and it is EASY to see that he should be a hot target for SO many programs around the region/country. When you talk about this young man’s game, this is a 6’7 long athletic wing prospect who flies higher than most prospects but shows consistently all season long that he can score in an array of ways. Gets to the rim, is excellent in transition, gets to his spots and rise over defenders for his jumper, or he can hurt you more from behind the arc. And that doesn’t mention his energy on the boards as well. It is so easy to see that Taylor should be holding double-digit offers.
2024 Gabriel Mabor (Gaston Christian):
It seems like every year, we hear coaches who are looking for a true big man to help man the paint and provide depth. Well, Mabor can absolutely be that guy! He is a double-double machine who works hard, has really developed well over the years, and is not only physical around the basket but also has good hands offensively and on the boards. And now, he is showing a bit more of his ability to stretch the court. He easily could help your program and in the coming years be a tremendous piece for a college program. Can’t teach his size, and his development over the years can’t go unnoticed either. The time is now!
2024 Jayan Walker (Combine Academy):
There is a lot to like about Walker and his game. Not only has he continued to grow and develop as a player and his overall feel, but he checks off a lot of boxes that college programs are looking for in a prospect. Walker is a 6’5 prospect that only has grown in confidence with his game, and has a college frame already. He is able to not only make plays off the bounce and use his body well but can be a consistent presence in knocking down shots off the catch or dribble. He can be a valuable piece early on for his team and should only continue to develop at the next level.
