It was a packed house out at Mallard Creek, as they had two big-time showdowns on deck Friday night.  Phenom Hoops went back and watched the film between North Meck and Mallard Creek boys, as it brought some strong talent to the court. North Meck came out strong and jumped out to a double-digit lead, eventually leading 16-4 after the first quarter. 2024 Isaiah Evans was putting on a show in leading the charge offensively, but others got also in on the action including 2025 Chadlyn Traylor and 2025 Carson Evans. It is what allowed North Meck to put this one away early, leading 52-17 at halftime.  This game was well in hand, but Mallard Creek kept competing behind 2026 Rassell Young and 2024 Gary Davis. But it wasn’t enough, as North Meck was able to walk away with an 87-44 road victory.

Final: North Meck 87 – Mallard Creek 44

Stats:
NM: Isaiah Evans 35pts, Chadlyn Traylor 19pts, Carson Evans 13pts
MC: Gary Davis 13pts, Rassell Young 9pts

Standouts:

2024 Isaiah Evans (NM): There is no doubt about it, Evans stole the show and put on a show for the fans, going for 35 points to lead the way. Evans continues to show why he is one of the best scorers in the country; elite and almost unstoppable at times with his confidence from behind the arc (hit 5 3-pointers) but also his ability to create space and score over defenders with ease.  Another statement game for the senior.

2025 Chadlyn Traylor and 2025 Carson Evans (NM): Both junior guards impressed with their play as well. Both creating and showing the ability to create, finding ways to get to the basket and score as well as get to the line, but also knock down shots. Very crafty and athletic guards that made several plays off the bounce.

2024 Gary Davis (Mallard Creek): Though it was a tough night overall for MC, David didn’t quit and continued to compete. He found ways to be active and create opportunities for himself, especially in the second half.  He was active on the boards and was able to either create to score around the basket or showed his motor in getting to the line.
