Player: Addison Newkirk
Class: 2025
School: Greensboro Day

We at Phenom Hoops continue to spotlight players who seem to be having a big season, and one player that we have had a chance to watch on a few occasions this season has been 2025 6’6 Addison Newkirk from Greensboro Day.

Newkirk recently played in the Phenom Tourney Town Showcase and the Tyler Lewis Hoopfest, and he may be playing his best basketball that we have seen. He has not only been helping lead the charge offensively but also being extremely active in other areas of the court to help his team. Newkirk finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds last week and backed that up with a strong 14-point, 8-rebound showing against Millbrook. It truly seems that he has elevated his level of play this year and it shouldn’t go unnoticed. He continues to help make winning plays, whether it is being more of an offensive threat or doing the dirty work as well that helps his team in other ways. He creates and causes problems with his ability to score from various areas, whether it is knocking down shots off the catch or creating off the bounce and finishing with his size. He also continues to be an active rebounder and is a well-rounded player on the court who has a high IQ for the game. One can see that he has gotten stronger and more athletic, finishing through contact and being a good perimeter shooter.

Newkirk has had a strong start to his junior year, and he deserves credit for his play, as college coaches should continue to watch more of his game and development.
