Going late in the day, we went on the girls’ side of things with Freedom welcoming in Shelby at the Phenom Freedom 828 Showcase. Freedom looked to make a statement and came out strong in this game, quickly jumping out to a double-digit lead and being assertive inside and out. Freedom was able to make its presence felt early down in the paint and on the glass, creating second-chance points while also limiting Shelby offensively. Shelby struggled to find success offensively, as Freedom found themselves up big at halftime 50-11. Much of the same continued in the second half, though Shelby continued to fight and try to find success. But in the end, Freedom was just too much, earning the 65-19 victory.
