2024 Kyrell Shaw (Northside Christian): Shaw came out red-hot in this game, showing his offensive firepower and his ability to score in a variety of ways. Shaw not only did a great job in finishing with his length out in transition, he continued to show how deadly he can be from behind the arc. The senior leader stepped up to lead the charge, going for 22 points to lead all scorers in the game.
2024 Josh Bullock (Northside Christian): Really liked what I saw out of Bullock in this game on Day 1. Bullock was able to get into the scoring column in the second half, but his overall impact on the court was tremendous. Creating havoc defensively, getting in the passing lanes, creating and dishing to his teammates, and also doing all the little things, Bullock had an impressive all-around game.
2024 Jacob Brandly (Combine Regional): Brandly is one that I continue to believe should garner more interest. The 6’6 forward can be used in various ways and can make his opponent pay, whether it is popping out behind the arc and showing his range, but also using his frame to battle in the paint, rebound, and finish with nice touch over defenders.
2024 Manu Crujeiras (Combine Regional): A new name that grabbed my attention in this game, the 6’9 big man was able to anchor the paint on both ends, showing good flashes in his game as a shot-blocker but also one that can be effective on the boards and with touch offensively inside. He showed solid flashes throughout the game.
2024 Zion Walker (TBS): Walker was huge and stepped up time after time for his team in clutch situations. He continues to showcase his ability to create his own opportunities, wanting the ball, getting to his spots, and making plays downhill to finish strong. He is only continuing to show what he did all last year, as he had another big-time offensive showing on Day 1.
2027 King Gibson (TBS): I was highly impressed with the young freshman, and he looks to be on a big-time trajectory early on. He has tremendous size and length at 6’4, and he was able to use that to attack and finish downhill. But what also impressed was his defensive intensity, his ability to be active on both sides and he certainly wasn’t afraid of the bright lights.
2025 Eli Ellis (Moravian Prep): Winners step up when they are needed, and I’m not sure what else can be said about this young man but he continues to prove all doubters wrong and simply wants the ball in his hands. He was huge in the fourth quarter, with big three after big three, and even when the game was on the line, no doubt was going to get the ball… and he delivered with the game-winning three. Such a special talent that delivers every time!
2026 Isaac Ellis (Moravian Prep): I was also impressed with the scrappiness and playmaking of Ellis, as he was helping lead the charge early on in this one for his team. Ellis did a great job of finding ways to create and get to his spots, knocking down shots from multiple levels, and being that scrappy guard that creates extra possessions.
2024 Bobby Cannon (Forsyth Country Day): Cannon is simply playing with a new mentality and looking to prove himself in a big way with his new team. He had a strong showing early on, using his length well in the paint and over defenders, getting to his spots to knock down threes, finishing at the rim, and making it hard for opponents to shoot over. Tremendous showing on Day 1.
2024 Iverson King (Forsyth Country Day): King was another player who really stepped up, as the newly committed prospect continued to flourish as a downhill creator. King is a strong prospect who can get downhill, take contact, and finish strong through defenders around the basket, as well as getting to his spots. He was part of a strong duo that helped lead the way for his team.
2025 Bryce Slay (Carmel Christian): Slay is starting to open more eyes about his game, showing his ability to score in a variety of ways and not just a player who can knock down shots. Though he has a strong range with his game with a smooth, confident release, he is getting an opportunity to show he can be an offensive presence from multiple levels.
2024 Kameron Taylor (Carmel Christian): Taylor is another new name for this team, and he should be one of the go-to guys all year long. There is a lot to like about his game, and his stock continues to rise the more we see him play. Extremely long and explosive, he is at his best attacking off the dribble and showing his bounce and body control at or around the basket. Think he could have a monster year for this team.
