Concord HS led by its Trio
We had a great chance to check out Concord High School at the Jamboree, and the trio of 2025 Jadah Freeman, 2025 Judah Freeman, and 2024 Jeremiah Howard shined as leaders for this team. These three continued to shine as the go-to players for his team, as the Freeman brothers are two guards that can create and make plays, knock down shots, and be true playmakers. Howard is a big, physical forward down low that finishes around the basket and brings a physical presence. These three should have a strong season in leading the way.
Trinity Christian showcasing its talent; team to watch for
A team that we were eager to see was Trinity Christian, as this is a program that has talent to be found and they showed that. Overall, they played with tenacity and a little spunk, as they are looking to build off a 21-9 season. 2026 Justin Caldwell is quickly becoming one of the top bigs in the Class of 2026, as he brings a strong, physical game to the floor. But players like 2024 Linwood Rowe, 2024 DeVaughn Bown, and others should make this team a fun one to watch and also one that could make a run late in the season.
2025 Tre McKinnon bringing the Whole Package
There are plenty of storylines that could go with this year’s Lake Norman team, but I’m looking at 2025 Tre McKinnon, as one can see that he has continued to develop as a player and is showing more of his overall game. We already knew about his length and athleticism, as he continues to excel and finish at the rim time after time. But now McKinnon is showing his full arsenal, as you can see he has continued to put in the work. Knocking down shots from three and mid-range and mixing it up on both ends, McKinnon continues to see his stock rise with his overall game.
Forsyth Country Day bringing weapons to the court
Another team that we knew a lot about coming in, Forsyth Country Day showed that they are ready and have the talent to make a run at a title. This is a squad that has depth and plenty of weapons to use, showcasing size and quickness, and having plenty of options. 2024 Iverson King, 2024 Bobby Cannon, and 2024 Draven Pilson bring length and size, while 2027 Chris Gomez, 2024 Jahon Foster, 2026 Q Williams, and others can be weapons at the guard position. They were battle-tested at the event and came through with some strong wins.
