Coach: Blan Hodges

#7: 6’0 ’24 Armani Henderson (Bull City Prep)

Starting things off, we look at a player who showcased a dynamic identity at camp, Armani Henderson. He’s an incredibly quick, heady guard prospect who thrives as a penetrator and overall transition threat. Henderson possesses a tight handle and sharp first step, which he utilizes to effortlessly break down opponents, touch the paint at a high volume, and finish or set up others. His speed in the open floor allows him to race past everyone and consistently generate fast-break opportunities. Henderson has a lethal midrange pull-up and shoots the ball at a solid percentage from beyond the arc. He’s also a rugged defender with quality instincts and a nice rebounding sense. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would only help prepare him for the college game. Coach Hodges on Henderson: “Armani is a high-motor guard that penetrates really well. Highlights feel on both sides of the ball. He can work to become a more consistent three-point shooter.” Henderson did a lot of things well at camp and should be a target for scholarship-level coaches throughout the upcoming season.

#10: 6’0 ’25 Tyree White (Covenant Day)

Next, we look at a player who simply knows how to provide a steady two-way presence, Tyree White. He’s a smart, unselfish point guard prospect with a nice blend of defense, playmaking, and scoring prowess. White displays a calm demeanor with the ball in his hands, looking to get others involved and assert his scoring presence as needed. He handles the ball well, makes quality passes, and is capable of finding success as an off-ball threat. White understands how to operate in various different roles and produce within the flow of the action. He’s also a reliable defender who forces turnovers and pushes transition play at a useful rate. Next in his development process is working on his shooting consistency off the dribble, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Hodges on White: “Tyree is a crafty guard with a knack for the ball. He scored well and got others involved. He can improve his overall pace of play.” White enjoyed a quality showing at camp and should be a key piece for Covenant Day over these next two seasons.

#23: 6’2 ’24 CJ Vaughn (Winston-Salem Christian)

Moving onto a player who possesses an array of appealing qualities, CJ Vaughn. He’s a quick, athletic guard prospect with a nice combination of IQ, motor, and two-way ability. Vaughn showcased a polished scoring arsenal from all three levels, consistently mixing it up and finding success with or without the ball in his hands. He attacked the basket and finished or set up others whenever possible, but also converted jumpers with consistency. Vaughn defended with purpose, forced numerous turnovers, and pushed transition play on a frequent basis. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find even more scoring opportunities as a cutter/spot-up threat. Coach Hodges on Vaughn: “CJ is an athletic guard with a high motor and good combination of high-level skills. Played with great energy and adapted to several different roles on the court. CJ had a good attitude and accepted any coaching feedback.” Vaughn proved to be an asset during his time at camp and should be an x-factor for Winston-Salem Christian throughout the upcoming season.

#39: 6’4 ’25 Jonah Lawrence (Providence Day)

Continuing onto a player who continues to blossom as an overall leader, Jonah Lawrence. He’s a smart, skilled wing prospect with an excellent combination of size, scoring polish, and defensive instincts. Lawrence is a quality creator, both for himself and others, with the ability to score the ball in a healthy variety of ways. He shoots the ball at a high percentage, attacks the basket well, and knows how to post up smaller opponents. Lawrence mixes it up on a consistent basis, but also does a great job of getting others involved in the action. Defensively, he utilizes his length and motor to make his presence felt. Lawrence also rebounds the ball at a strong rate for his size/position and is capable of pushing the break in transition. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would allow him to become a more physically imposing player. Coach Hodges on Lawrence: “Jonah is a really good player. His offensive versatility is his specialty. He was great on the boards.” Lawrence did a lot of things well at camp and should be a focal point for Providence Day going forward.

#42: 6’4 ’25 Matija Moravcevic (The Burlington School)

Next, we look at a player who arguably stood out as one of the top shooters in attendance, Matija Moravcevic. He’s a long, wiry wing prospect with an enticing blend of size, athleticism, and perimeter shooting. Moravcevic is a lethal marksman, both off the catch and bounce, who shoots the ball with a ton of confidence. He’s capable of shining as a spot-up threat from anywhere beyond the arc, but can also access jumpers within a few dribbles, pull-up from midrange, or attack closeouts and finish or set up others. Moravcevic understands how to assert himself within the flow of the action, but can also heat up quickly and take over as needed. He provides an excellent defensive presence and secures rebounds at a solid rate for his size/position. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Hodges on Moravcevic: “Matija is a high-IQ player with a smooth shooting stroke. Found ways to produce but needs to work on his footwork with contact.” Moravcevic did a lot of things well at camp and should be a difference-maker for The Burlington School going forward.

#55: 6’6 ’25 Donald “Trey” Sheppard (Bull City Prep)

Moving onto a player whose stock is rapidly trending upward, Donald “Trey” Sheppard. He’s a smart, polished, high-motor wing prospect with a reliable scoring arsenal from all three levels. Sheppard excels at getting downhill and finishing around the basket, both above and below the rim, but can also knock down jumpers at a quality rate from the perimeter. He does a great job of making hustle plays and outworking his assignment on both ends of the floor. Sheppard contains his assignment well defensively and forces turnovers with regularity. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would open him up to even more scoring opportunities. Coach Hodges on Sheppard: “Trey is a really solid player. Scored the ball with ease and got going in a variety of different ways. He can work on his cutting ability and playing within the team structure. Trey got to his spots and converted at a consistent rate.” Sheppard enjoyed a strong showing at camp and should be a focal point for Bull City Prep over these next two seasons.

#56: 7’0 ’24 Chol Machot (Winston-Salem Christian)

Continuing onto a player who seems to get better and better with each new viewing, Chol Machot. He’s a long, skilled big man prospect with incredible size, fluidity, and clear long-term upside. Machot finishes well around the basket, both above and below the rim, and scores effectively out of the post. He’s a smooth three-point shooter with an understanding of how to properly assert his presence along the perimeter. Machot blocks shots at a high volume, rebounds his position, and runs the floor well in transition. His two-way ability naturally overwhelms the majority of opposing big men. Next in his development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make him even better in hedging/recovery situations on defense. Coach Hodges on Machot: “Chol plays with great energy. His basketball IQ is extremely high. Combine that with his ability to finish on anyone or step out to the three-point line and it’s easy to see the appeal. He produced on both ends of the floor.” Machot proved to be an asset at camp and should continue to stockpile offers during his upcoming senior season with Winston-Salem Christian.

#58: 6’6 ’25 Nicholas Hailey (Providence Day)

Next, we look at a player who has all the makings of a potential breakout candidate, Nicholas Hailey. He’s a smart, skilled, well-rounded wing prospect with a polished scoring arsenal and the ability to make plays with or without the ball in his hands. Hailey is a useful creator with solid vision and a willingness to get others involved as needed. He applies efficient pressure from all levels and mixes it up whenever possible. Hailey forced turnovers and made his presence felt defensively. He also pursued rebounds and got to his spots in transition. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Hodges on Hailey: “Nick plays with great effort. He showed a lot of tools and ability but needs to work on his consistency in some areas of the game. It’s clear that he’s a skilled player. Offers a good combination of IQ, size, and skill. Solid athlete.” Hailey enjoyed a quality showing at camp and should be a definite focal point for Providence Day going forward.

#74: 6’9 ’24 Cal Barrett (Bishop McGuinness)

Finishing up, we look at a player who simply has the tools and skillset to produce alongside any collection of teammates, Cal Barrett. He’s a long, skilled, athletic forward prospect with touch, ball skills, and floor-spacing ability. Barrett can create as needed, but doesn’t force the action. He’s a nice finisher, useful post-up option, and reliable shooter from midrange or beyond the arc. Barrett utilized his size and motor to consistently cause problems for opponents defensively. He also rebounded the ball really well and ran the floor properly in transition. Next in his development process is working to get quicker, as it would allow him to get better at attacking closeouts. Coach Hodges on Barrett: “Cal is a great player who finishes really well through contact. He can improve on some areas of the game, like his consistency from beyond the arc. That said, he still some jumpers and clearly understands how to assert himself from beyond the arc.” Barrett did a lot of things well during his time at camp and should be a target for various college coaches entering his senior season with Bishop McGuinness.
