2024 Darius Carr (Gray Collegiate): For an unsigned senior, Carr had an eye-opening showing at the camp and put many on notice that he is one to really watch out for this upcoming season. Carr, who is a 6’7 forward displayed a strong feel around the paint, along with footwork and touch around the basket. He was strong in Game 1, but put on a show in Game 2 with 42 points.
2024 Markell Hollis (Gaffney): Hollis brought consistency to the table offensively, as the 6’3 guard was able to score the ball effectively, do so in a variety of ways and from multiple levels, knock down shots with range but also showcase quickness, speed, and the ability to create off the dribble as well. He finished the event averaging 21.5ppg, showing how productive and efficient he can be.
2024 Stephen Quinn (Westminster Catawba): Quinn has been a well-known name with Phenom Hoops over the years, and many times it was because of his range and shot-making from deep. He continues to showcase that ability, but I believe he also opened more eyes in that he can impact the game in other ways. He is capable of creating for himself, makes those hustle plays, and also makes unselfish plays for his teammates.
2024 Justin Ray (Eastside): One of the best remaining guards in the class for 2024, Ray continues to showcase his blend of athleticism, skill, IQ, and playmaking ability on the floor. Ray can flourish in a variety of ways, whether it is in catch-and-shoot situations, one-dribble pull-ups, or surprising you with his athleticism to finish at the rim and over defenders.
2024 Caden Giles (Nation Ford): Giles is a big that I believe should get more looks, and think he will get that even more this season. The 6’10 big moves extremely well, and is extremely fluid in running the floor, making plays off the bounce, finishing at the rim or around defenders, stepping out at times, and also being that strong presence as a rim protector and on the boards. It is time to realize what he can do.
2024 Caden Kreger (Powdersville): Though shots were always falling for Kreger, he is a player who plays with a ton of confidence and is one that can be a tough matchup with his 6’7 frame. Kreger can let it fly from deep, as he hunts out his shot from behind the arc, but also uses his size to attack the basket and make strong finishes as well.
2024 Jamarie Brown (South Florence): Brown continues to be a consistent presence on the court with his playmaking ability and shot-making capability. He is a quick guard with strong handles, creates well, and gets inside the defense at times, but is also capable of scoring from multiple levels on the court. I really like how he competed on both ends at the camp.
2024 Mason Mitchell (Northwestern): Mitchell is a player that we continue to praise because he is a versatile player on the floor who does what is needed for his team. He can score, rebound, defend multiple positions, make tremendous passes, and simply fill up the stat sheet with what his team needs him to do.
