One of the top guards at the Lady Top 80 camp this past weekend had to have been 2026 5’4 Ameya Brown who is at Terry Sanford. She made it very clear that she was coming here to showcase her overall impact, and how dynamic of a guard she can be on the court.
She proved that in a big way, as she averaged 19.5 points per game and put on a show offensively and defensively. Not only did she bring a scrappy game to the court, but she was also able to really fill it up offensively as well. Defensively, she did a great job getting into defenders, competing, and creating havoc that eventually led to multiple turnovers. She turned those steals instantly out into transition points, using her speed to her advantage. Overall though, Brown was able to break down defenders, create with craft, was able to finish out in the open court, and knock down shots; she filled it up consistently all throughout the camp.
Again, her overall presence both offensively and defensively really impressed us throughout, and she clearly put herself in the discussion as one of the premier players for her class.
