The Lady Top 80 brought some tremendous talent to the front for Phenom Hoops and Lady Phenom, as there were a few familiar names as well as new names. One player that we certainly knew about coming in was 2025 Mary Church from East Rowan, as she stood out early and often at the camp and proved that she could be a player who helps a program.
Watching her throughout, it started during the drills session and stations, where she was vocal, a leader and cheering her teammates on, and showing that she was one of the top shooters at the camp. She only carried that and more into the games. Church does a terrific job in moving without the ball, displaying tremendous IQ and court awareness, and can really hurt you from deep with her shot-making ability. She was at her best when showing her range and ability to knock down shots, but she also mixed it up really well, creating off the dribble, playing within the offense, and bringing value in other areas of the floor.
This is why Church is one that should earn more attention from college programs. Several schools have been expressing interest her way, but we believe that her stock should only continue to rise. She has proven to be a true team-first player, a valuable and reliable player on the court, and one that can only help a program.
