6’3 Seth Harris (Caldwell Academy)
As evidenced during camp, Harris has clearly put forth a lot of time and effort in developing his overall game over the last few months. He already possesses a nice blend of IQ, skill, and athleticism for his age. Harris is a reliable shooting threat who understands how to attack closeouts, defer to others, and operate within the team structure. He’s an engaged defender who plays hard and shows a willingness to do the dirty work when necessary. Harris is only going to get better going forward, but don’t be surprised when he plays a major role for Caldwell Academy as a freshman.
6’5 Keyonee Terry (South Granville)
In terms of sheer appeal, Terry was easily one of the most enticing long-term prospects in attendance. He’s a long, fluid wing prospect who excels at getting downhill and making plays as a penetrator. Terry finishes through contact and above the rim, but can also set up others or hit jumpers at a respectable clip. He’s a smart passer, willing rebounder, and instinctual defender who is only going to continue trending upward over the foreseeable future. Terry has a ton of potential, but should also double as a highly productive focal point for South Granville.
6’4 LJ Smith (Lincolnton)
There were a ton of polished players on display, and Smith showcased as much offensive ability as anyone. He effortlessly generated clean looks off the bounce, scored in a multitude of different ways, and simply highlighted an advanced array of skills in comparison to his peers. Smith is a crafty ball-handler with IQ and a quick first step, which allows him to consistently break down opponents, touch the paint, and make plays with the ball in his hands. He finishes well around the basket and is capable of setting up others as needed. Smith also has a great frame and clear upside as a defender. Expect him to have an exciting freshman campaign.
6’4 King Gibson (The Burlington School)
It probably goes without saying, but Gibson was undeniably the most dominant camper in attendance. His combination of size, skill, and athleticism is simply too overwhelming for the majority of freshmen…and that was plainly evident throughout the games. Gibson scored whenever and wherever he wanted, mixed it up at a healthy rate, and shined as a legitimate leader on both ends of the floor. He’s a powerful all-around athlete with the ability to finish through contact and meet opponents at the rim, but also skilled enough to do basically anything with the ball in his hands. Gibson continues to showcase the makings of a special player.
6’2 Chris Gomez (Forsyth Country Day)
Rounding out this list, Gomez is someone who has only gotten better and better over the last calendar year. He’s a tough, well-rounded floor general with a balanced approach and ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. During camp, Gomez scored in various ways, created for himself and others, and made a slew of defensive plays. He also consistently made hustle plays and led by example. All signs point to him being a major x-factor for the Furies going forward.
