Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Sean Birmingham
Class: 2024
Committed to: Indiana State

What Has Been Said:

“2024 6’7 Sean Birmingham came onto the scene and made a huge splash last year at Cannon, but he is now going to be counted on being one of those key go-to players for Concord Academy.  Which is why we expect him to have a big season once again.  Schools should be all over this young man with how difficult of a matchup he can be; his smooth feel and skill set, his footwork inside and touch, and how big-time he can be in stretching the court with his terrific form and shot-making ability.  Even after a big season last year, he could be in for an even bigger one this year which is saying something.”

“I will be honest… I’m surprised more schools are jumping in on his recruitment and his offer list isn’t filling up. But there is still plenty of time and do believe that it will be coming sooner rather than later.  But the 6’8 prospect is a complete x-factor on the court, and the way he can be used at the next level should excite college coaches. Birmingham knows how to take advantage of the mismatch; his ability to stretch the floor and consistently hit shots from outside against bigs is impressive, but he also has the skill set to put it on the deck and get to the basket against smaller defenders.  He takes what is given and can hurt you in many ways.”

“Birmingham continues to see his stock rise this season, really making his name on the big stage. The 6’8 prospect is a fluid mismatch on the floor, showing his ability to handle and make plays off the dribble, but also pop out and display a silky smooth release from three and just inside. Continues to be a big part of this team’s success this year.”

“The Cougars are definitely one of the most entertaining teams in North Carolina, and Birmingham is a huge reason why. He’s one of the best shooters in the state, regardless of size or position, and naturally seems to cause problems for opponents with his floor-spacing ability. Birmingham shoots the ball at an extremely high percentage from anywhere within thirty feet, but can also finish, hit pull-ups, or attack off the bounce. It’s easy to see why college coaches have already started laying groundwork.”

“The new kid on the block here in North Carolina, continues to make waves with his play as he led the charge in what was an impressive showing by Cannon. Birmingham continues to be a matchup nightmare with his ability to stretch the court; but what also impresses us is his ability to make plays off the bounce, how fluid his shot-making ability is, and how he can help battle and operate from multiple areas of the court.”
