6’5” ’24 D’Marquez Rochelle (BSM Waka Flocka)
Rochelle was impressive all Sunday, controlling the game with his defensive versatility, rebounding ability, and shot-making prowess. He has a long frame with good strength that he used to get to his spots at will. He scored the ball within the flow of offense, attacking closeouts wells, hitting catch-and-shoot jumpers, and finishing through traffic consistently. Defensively, he was able to switch onto multiple positions and create havoc all over the court with his length, instincts, and aggressiveness.
6’2” ’25 AJ Gladieux (Papa Pete’s Patriots)
Gladieux helped himself as much as anyone this weekend as he finished with 22 and 25 points in their two games. He scored the ball in a variety of ways, shooting at an extremely high clip, finishing above and around the rim, and flashing some off the dribble game as well. Despite his scoring outbursts, he never seemed to force the action and found open teammates with consistency.
6’3” ’25 Chance Gladden (Triangle Flight)
Gladden controlled and dictated the action on both ends of the court all day. He continues to be incredibly reliable at either guard spot, able to score and create from both effectively. His poise and overall composure with the ball stand out as he’s never playing at a pace other than his own. He handles pressure like very few can, consistently capitalizes on missed defensive rotations, and seemingly never fails to make the easy read.
6’4” ’24 Xavier Johnson (We’ll Talk Soon)
Johnson was quietly dominant all weekend, scoring in bunches while impacting every facet of the game. He’s simply lethal getting downhill and is able to create for his team very effectively off the drive. His shooting ability has always been a strength and he further enforced that on Saturday. He was effective off the catch and the bounce, using his size and length to shoot over good contests. His hyper-efficient game combined with the talent surrounding him on this We’ll Talk Soon roster makes him one of the most dangerous matchups in the event.
WCBA 2026
The WCBA 2026 squad continues to impress with their elite ability to shoot the ball. It’s extremely rare to find a team with so many consistent and reliable shooting threats. This weekend it was Hudson Fitzgerald, Nicholas Ercolinco, Will Migdal, and ’27 Walker Montague each hitting a handful of threes across their two games and leading them to a 1-1 (nearly 2-0) start to the league. Their ability to shoot in a variety of situations, while also being quality decision-makers, is simply unheard of on the same team in this manner. They absolutely lit up the spring and summer seasons, establishing themselves as one of the top few 15u teams in the state, independent or otherwise. Despite the bump up in competition by playing against quality varsity opponents in the fall league, this group remains as impressive as ever and will be a tough outcome tournament time.
