Ramirez was off the charts down in Dallas this at the @TrxasHoopsGASO. Steven led this loaded team well down there in two fierce battles that came down to the final shot; he was clutch. Steven wanted the ball in his hands down the stretch and delivered emphatically. In two games, he averaged 16pts, 7rebs, 4asts, 2stls, and a block. His energy and hustle were incredible. Poised and confident, he took their best shot.
This is what I saw back in the summer AAU session. Ramirez doesn’t force bad shots and constantly looks for open teammates. He has blossomed into a well-rounded leader ready for the big moments. He improved his three-ball most in the summer. Last season, Steven averaged 10pts, 5rebs, and 1.3blk per game. He certainly elevated those stats over the summer and is setting himself up for a massive season in his new role. Steven has set the goal to average 18pts,8rebs, 2blks and help guide this team to the 6A state chip. And with the talent around him, it will be a deep run.
Coaches should know Ramirez has an extremely high court IQ on both ends and is an outstanding defender you can trust. Makes the right plays and knows exactly when to elevate his game to be that guy in the moment but team-driven enough to when to facilitate. Steven is a proven leader and winner already. Nowhere to go but up. This star is humble and extremely coachable. Don’t miss seeing him and this special Keller team this season.
