Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Jaeden Mustaf
Class: 2024
Committed to: Georgia Tech

What He Brings:

Georgia Tech got themselves a good one coming in, as Mustaf will be one that brings a lot to the table and will put in the work from Day 1. Mustaf has the size that you love at 6’6, and showed in the last year that he knows how to lead a team and impact the game in a variety of ways. He is absolutely relentless in his ability to get downhill and attack the rim, embracing contact and finishing strong. But he also continued to show more improvement in his shot-making ability, something that he will only continue to work on at the next level. Defensively though, Mustaf should make his impact felt immediately as he can guard and look to lock down multiple positions and prides himself on that side of the ball. Georgia Tech was certainly looking to make some noise, and Mustaf is one of those guys they can really build around.

What Has Been Said:

“Talk about a player that isn’t afraid of the bright lights and can be an absolute game-changer for a team.  Mustaf is that dude… he continues to be an unbelievable impact on both sides of the court.  He is a prospect that checks so many boxes with his game. Mustaf is incredibly strong on the defensive end, fills up the stat sheet, has that takeover gear in clutch situations, has continued to improve his perimeter shot, and continues to be an absolute physical force in getting what he wants, where he wants.  When his team needed him the most, he elevated his game just another notch to help his team to victory.”

“Mustaf continues to make a staple here in North Carolina. What is so intriguing about Mustaf’s game is that even when you know what he is going to do, you can not stop him. He gets where he wants, does what he wants, and finishes extremely well around the basket. But his overall impact and leadership is quite impressive, as he continues to be the leader of the pack for this team.”

“There are a lot of high-level players on display, but Mustaf is arguably the top prospect in the entire event. He’s a strong, athletic wing with the ability to get downhill whenever he wants and finish, set up others, or get to the line (where he converts at a quality percentage). Mustaf is great in transition, possesses excellent body control, and defends extremely well across multiple positions. He’s also a steady rebounder who looks to push the break whenever possible. It’s easy to see why he has so much attention in the national scope.”

“What you must like about Mustaf’s game is his overall impact on the court; he plays and does so much on the floor for his team. We have spoken about his ability to get downhill and no one is slowing him down when he gets to the basket.  But he is also tremendous in transition in pushing the pace, looking to make plays for others, his impact on the boards, and his relentless impact on the defensive end in blocking shots and locking up defenders. He filled it up on both ends and it is easy to see he is such a target for many.”
