2024 Jayan Walker enjoys visit to Georgia State

One of the fastest rising prospects in the state, 2024 Jayan Walker will be a hot topic for many. Not only because he has joined the powerhouse of Combine Academy, but his recruitment has really taken off.  Racking up the offers this summer, Walker has shown that he could be a tremendous get for many schools.  He recently took a visit to Georgia State, a program that has been recruiting the area hard over the years.

“It was really good,” Walker told Phenom Hoops.  “We saw the campus and places in the city.  They like my fit and see me having a big role with them.” Georgia State was one of several programs that offered in the month of June.

2025 Trajan Thompson setting up upcoming visits

Thompson was a player that really impressed even more over the summer, as he was a standout in our last Phenom event at the Coach Rick TOC.  His size, his position, and his versatility bring a ton of intrigue and he has only gotten better.  This is what we recently said when watching him:

“Thompson checks off a lot of boxes when you watch him on the court, but there is still a lot of potential left in his game.  All that equals excitement for college coaches… He has tremendous size and length at his position, as it allows him to guard and operate from multiple positions on the court.  Thompson showed more of his ability to create and make plays for himself, finishing at the rim, making plays off the bounce, getting to his spots to knock down shots, and being a versatile defender as well for his team. Game after game, he filled it up and certainly averaged nearly 20ppg at the Coach Rick TOC, which is why we believe more schools will be coming his way this upcoming high school season.”

Schools have been noticing, as he earned offers from Robert Morris, Sam Houston State, High Point, and others this year.  In speaking with him, it looks like he has a few visits set as he has visits set up to Queens (September 20) and Furman (October 7) and is looking to set up a visit to UNCG in October at some point.

2025 Gevonte Ware continuing to earn recognition

One of the best big men in the state and region is 2025 Gevonte Ware, a player who looks ready to roll this upcoming high school season.  Ware is a prospect who is back ready to go, looks bigger and stronger, and can be a force around the basket with his size, his hands, and his ability to bring a presence in the paint and on the boards.  Which is why his recruitment is starting to really take off. He has added offers from Tennessee and Arizona State, while others are showing interest.

“They are both good schools,” Ware said about his latest offers.  “They are both high-major programs and though I haven’t spoken with them yet, my coach told me that they like my game.”

As far as interest goes, schools like South Carolina, Wake Forest, Ohio State, Alabama, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and others have reached out.  He is also supposed to be visiting NC State, Wake Forest, Mississippi State, and Nebraska down the road, but no dates have been set as of yet.

2024 Rakease Passmore continues his visits

One of the top players in the country, 2024 Rakease Passmore, took another official visit this past weekend. He was able to check in at Mississippi State this past weekend, as this is coming after his visit to Wake Forest the week before. According to outlets, Passmore also has visits to Miami (Sept 15), LSU (Sept 22), and Arkansas (Oct 7) coming up.

We quickly spoke with Passmore after his visit to Mississippi State, and he had this to say: “The visit was great, really loved the atmosphere.”

Passmore is a highly-coveted prospect with his scoring impact, his athleticism, and his impact on both ends.
