Georgia Southern was able to snag a tremendous prospect in 2024 Langston Boyd from Cox Mill, as we recently highlighted more about his game and what he can provide. We also were able to catch up with Boyd to learn his thoughts, his focus, and much more.
Phenom Hoops dove right into his focus this offseason, what he has been working on this offseason, why Georgia Southern was the right fit for him at the end and his excitement about his senior year at Cox Mill. Check out what he had to say!
Phenom: What has this offseason been like for you as well as your focus'
Boyd: The main thing that I have been focusing on is my three-point shot and coming off ball screens pulling up for the three or dishing out using my right hand. Also, making sure I have a great relationship with my high school coach, Coach Absher, and just be a great teammate and also get my teammates better.
Phenom: What is it like to now have your commitment behind you and now be able to focus on just your game'
Boyd: It feels great now being committed. It feels like everything is off my mind and I can just hoop. It allows me to focus on areas I need to work on in my game. I have been focusing a lot more on my body and making sure I’m running and stretching.
Phenom: What was it about Georgia Southern that ultimately made it the place for you'
Boyd: When I stepped into their practice and watched how they play at a fast speed and how they get each other involved, I automatically knew I could fit well in their system. Coach Henry also believes in me and wants to help me get better at my craft and to the next level. The college atmosphere is also great, and the people there were very welcoming.
Phenom: What is your excitement with your final year of high school ball at Cox Mill'
Boyd: I am very excited about my senior year. I’m ready to finish my season out with a bang and get to play with my new teammates. I am focused on being better than I was last year, and overall being a leader and getting my teammates better. This should be a really fun year.
