We simply can’t wait for the high school basketball season to begin, which is why we are diving into teams and doing some early previews.  There are teams all around the state that we will be looking at, as we take a look at teams and players to watch out for.

Team: AC Reynolds

Last Years Record: 18-11

Top Three Scorers Last Year:
Declan Brown: 15.5ppg
Jayden Harper: 12.2ppg
Dashawn Stone: 10.1ppg

This Year’s Team:

The Rockets had a very good showing last year, finishing 18-11 and with a strong conference record, but they will need to replace some key seniors from last year’s team. However, it will certainly help that they bring back 2025 6’2 Declan Brown who is coming off a season in which he led the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game, while also averaging 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He should once again be the go-to player to lead the way, as he looks to finish his high school career off strong.

Now Reynolds did lose Harper and Stone, so this team will need to replace their production. In speaking with Coach Stevens, two players to look out for are 2025 Kaelan Gilliand (7.6ppg, 3.4rpg) who is receiving some interest from D2 schools, and 2025 6’7 Grant Clayton (7.3ppg, 5.5rpg) who brings size and can make his presence felt inside and around the glass. These two, along with others, will look to lead the charge for the Rockets, as they hope to find the same success as last season.
