Continuing onto a player who understands how to effectively fill in the gaps as an offensive option, Jahon Foster. He’s a scrappy, wiry guard prospect with a great midrange pull-up and the ability to penetrate or hit shots from beyond the arc. Foster handles and passes the ball well, but can also spot-up or find chances as a cutter. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find more scoring opportunities alongside another lead creator. Coach Goodman on Foster: “Jahon is a solid scorer that gets to his spots for his shot. Displayed the ability to score at all three levels. Looks to score first. Can work on his ability to read the defense. Needs to improve his strength and on-ball defense. There were times when opponents were able to straight-line drive to the basket.” Foster highlighted some positive flashes at camp, and should be a strong contributor during the upcoming season at Forsyth Country Day.

What To Expect:

Heading into his senior season, Foster will be an even more significant part of the Furies’ identity and overall structure. He’s shown the ability to effectively run a team or play alongside another primary ball-handler and assert himself as a scorer. Foster is quick, heady, and does a great job of attacking the basket or applying pressure in the midrange area. He’s a useful playmaker with a willingness to set up others and make the right play whenever possible. Although Foster typically looks to get downhill, he’s also extremely difficult for opponents to contain when he’s knocking down jumpers from beyond the arc. He also provides a scrappy defensive presence and energy as a rebounder. Foster should definitely appeal to a variety of next-level coaches.
