Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: Eli DeLaurier
Class: 2023
Committed to: Providence
What Was Said by Phenom:
“It has been a while since seeing young DeLaurier but once sitting down and watching the big man work, you can see that his development has only continued over time. And the scary thing is that it looks to be just the start. DeLaurier is long, active, and moves well down low in the post; he understands positioning and using his size to finish well, while also being active on the boards and as a shot-blocker. It is going to be interesting to see how much more he develops into his game as his body develops and earns more minutes on the court, but it is easy to see why schools are coming his way early on.
“DeLaurier, the younger brother of Javin, is only scratching the surface and has a ton of room to grow. But he is a name that you have to start watching. Still a work in progress but has solid footwork, rebounds well, and the potential could be there as he continues to work on his overall game. He still needs the offensive game to kick in but put him on your watch list.” – in 2019
“The big man was incredibly impressive today, finishing with 22 points to lead the charge. DeLaurier continues to make strides, but also brings intrigue with what he could be in the end as he still has potential. But the 6’9 center shows his ability to step out and show his confidence from behind the arc, but also be a strong presence in finishing around the basket, blocking shots, and being strong on the boards.”
“Delaurier was quite impressive in this game, as he only continues to get better and develop more of his game. The developing forward showed that he understands how to use his length, attack and be active on the boards, and his ability to be effective around the basket but also stretch the floor with his outside shooting. He brings versatility to the floor, plays with tremendous energy and runs the floor, and can make his presence felt on both ends. He just continues to get better and better each time.”
