Player: Kaleb Evans
Class: 2025
School: Lexington HS (SC)
One of the top players in South Carolina in the Class of 2025 is Kaleb Evans, an electric guard with great size at 6’3, is crafty and quick, displays athleticism with the ball in his hands, and is continuing to develop his overall game. Schools are noticing more of what he brings and what he ultimately could be, as Evans earned his fifth offer recently. He gave us the lowdown on all the latest going on in his recruitment.
Offers: Western Carolina, Winthrop, Jacksonville, South Carolina State, Nicholls
Thoughts on the latest offer from Western Carolina:
“I wasn’t really expecting them to offer me. I just went up there and knew it would be an opportunity for me to show the staff what I could do,” Evans told Phenom Hoops about the offer. “They said that I’ve been one of their biggest priorities for a minute now and that they watched me the whole summer. It was “Are you willing to spend your time to come up here” and when I did that, they knew that I was serious about their program and what they had to offer.”
When talking to Evans more about the program and what stood out, he liked the attention to detail about how the team plays defense, as they expressed that a lot during their camp.
Other schools coming around:
Western Carolina is the latest school to offer, as Evans is up to five offers right now but that doesn’t mean others are expressing interest more his way and could come to offer him down the road. Schools like Furman, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, and Kennesaw State have all stepped forward and shown interest as well.
Clemson is one that has been on him a little while now, as he was able to make a trip to Clemson not long ago to check out more about the program, and he has future plans on returning as well. He also has on the books that he is going to Blacksburg on October 14th to check out what the Hokies have to offer as well.
